Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated, dynamic, and enthusiastic pharmacist with a passion for education and training to join our team. This role involves supporting the development of undergraduate pharmacists and providing clinical pharmacy services within the hospital. This is a fantastic opportunity to enhance your skills and contribute to the future of the pharmacy workforce. You will play a crucial role in expanding clinical placements for pharmacy students from the University of Manchester, integrating into the pharmacy team and the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Clinical Tutor team and academic staff at the University of Manchester to provide hospital placements for all years of the MPharm program.
  • Review and update the MPharm curriculum in line with new General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) guidance.
  • Engage in audit and practice research to advance clinical teaching and support pharmacy undergraduate students with their research projects.
  • Deliver a patient-focused clinical pharmacy service, including participation in weekend and late-night rotas.
  • Support the Education and Training strategy of the MFT pharmacy department, assisting trainee and rotational pharmacists.

Registration

Essential: GPhC registered pharmacist

Qualifications

Essential:

  • MPharm (or equivalent)
  • 1 year pre-registration training
  • Successful completion of registration examination
  • Postgraduate diploma in clinical pharmacy (or completed 1st year)

Desirable:

  • Postgraduate qualification in education and training

Knowledge and Experience

Essential:

  • Substantial post-qualification experience in hospital pharmacy
  • Current and relevant clinical knowledge
  • Evidence of CPD
  • Experience in delivering training and education

Desirable:

  • Research experience
  • Experience supervising staff
  • Experience planning and developing teaching sessions
  • Experience evaluating teaching programs
