Summary
The Clinical Pharmacist will:
Manage staff involved in implementing and developing services alongside Lead Clinical Pharmacists and the Pharmacy General Services Manager.
Independently implement services aligning with the Pharmacy Department’s business plans.
Identify initiatives to enhance services and implement and monitor their progress.
Conduct clinical audits and practice research, implementing necessary actions from the audit cycle.
Provide training to staff, including pre-registration pharmacists, pharmacists, student technicians, and technicians.
Ensure compliance with pharmacy practice Standard Operating Procedures.
Represent the pharmacy department at local meetings and participate in all pharmaceutical services.
Provide professional leadership to clinical pharmacists, pre-registration pharmacists, technicians, and assistants.
Prepare weekly pharmacists’ rotas in line with departmental policy.
Ensure compliance with legal requirements related to drug purchase, supply, use, safe custody, and destruction.
Record all activities associated with the receipt and supply of medicines on Pharmacy computer systems.
Assist in the distribution of medicines and maintain systems for drug control.
Handle cash transactions for prescription charges or medicine sales.
