Summary

We are seeking an Advanced Specialist Pharmacist to provide expert pharmaceutical advice aimed at enhancing patient care for both inpatient and outpatient settings. This role involves clinically verifying chemotherapy prescriptions and SACT treatments, ensuring safe, cost-effective, and evidence-based treatments for patients. The successful candidate will also manage and develop the team delivering specialist clinical pharmacy and aseptic services to Cancer & Haematology patients.

Main Duties of the Job

The post-holder will:

  • Provide expert pharmaceutical advice to improve patient care in inpatient and outpatient settings
  • Clinically verify chemotherapy prescriptions and SACT treatments
  • Coordinate the management and development of the team delivering specialist clinical pharmacy and aseptic services to Cancer & Haematology patients
  • Work as an Independent Prescriber, prescribing and reviewing medication for therapeutic effectiveness, in accordance with evidence-based practice, national, and practice protocols
  • Participate in and lead innovative patient-focused projects when required
