Summary:

Join our dedicated Oncology Pharmacy Team as a Lead Cancer Outreach Pharmacist and play a vital role in delivering comprehensive clinical pharmacy services to oncology, haematology-oncology, and palliative care patients. This position requires working as a highly specialized practitioner under the guidance of the Senior Specialist Pharmacist, Oncology and Haemato-Oncology. You will lead the development and delivery of specialized clinical pharmacy services, including outreach oncology clinics, mobile treatment centers, and homecare services for oncology and haemato-oncology patients.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Service Delivery:

  • Lead the provision of specialist clinical pharmacy services to RSCH outreach oncology clinics, mobile treatment centers, and homecare services.
  • Actively participate in the oncology clinical trials setup, including the development and validation of electronic proforma prescriptions for chemotherapy and supportive care regimens.

Support and Management:

  • Support the Trust Wide Medicines Management service and contribute to clinical pharmacy services for cancer patients at St Luke’s Cancer Centre (SLCC).
  • Provide pharmaceutical input into oncology drug management, working closely with the Deputy Chief Pharmacist Cancer, Aseptic and Research Services (CARS).

Leadership and Supervision:

  • Oversee the line management of junior pharmacists and supervise pharmacy technicians and other pharmacy staff on a day-to-day basis.
  • Implement protocol guidelines for the safe administration of chemotherapy drugs across various tumour sites treated at SLCC, including breast, colorectal & gastrointestinal, lung, gynaecological, urological, brain, head & neck, and haematological malignancies.

Requirements:

This role demands an experienced pharmacist with advanced expertise in oncology pharmacy services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in clinical pharmacy, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
