Summary

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Support Medicines Optimisation: Assist the PCN multi-disciplinary team to ensure efficient medicines optimisation processes.
  2. Ordering and Returns: Implement effective ordering and return processes to reduce medication wastage.
  3. Training and Support: Provide training on the legal, safe, and secure handling of medicines, including the implementation of the Electronic Prescription Service (EPS).
  4. Promote eRD: Promote Electronic Repeat Dispensing (eRD) and online ordering.
  5. Interprofessional Collaboration: Develop relationships with other pharmacy professionals and team members to support integration across various healthcare sectors.
  6. Streamline Prescription Requests: Aid practice reception teams in managing general prescription requests, allowing GPs and clinical pharmacists to focus on more complex requests.
  7. Implement Prescribing Policies: Support the implementation of national prescribing policies and guidance within GP practices, care homes, and other primary care settings.
  8. Support QIPP and QOF: Assist the PCN in delivering on the QIPP agenda, Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF), and locally commissioned enhanced services.
  9. Quality Improvement: Contribute to quality improvement measures and the Quality and Outcomes Framework.
  10. Policy Development: Assist the PCN in reviewing and developing practice policies to meet CQC requirements.
