Job Summary

We are seeking a conscientious and adaptable individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills to join our Pharmacy team at the Grange University Hospital (GUH) as a Pharmacy Assistant. This role involves working in the Distribution section, ensuring medications are dispatched timely and efficiently to various wards and departments within GUH. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of stock control and high computer literacy. Enthusiasm, self-motivation, and a good standard of general education are essential.

Main Duties of the Job

The successful applicant will play a crucial role in managing pharmaceutical stock. Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the Logistics Service by reviewing and creating orders to Pharmaceutical Suppliers and resolving supply issues.
  • Receipting orders from procurement and pharmaceutical suppliers.
  • Checking all pharmaceutical orders against appropriate paperwork.
  • Ensuring delivery notes are passed to the clerical office for matching with a purchase order.
  • Putting received stock into the correct bin location and ensuring stock rotation to minimize waste.
  • Quarantining all stock and consumables for Quality Control testing.
  • Conducting stock checks of starting materials and consumables, including checking expiry dates.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; however, English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
