Your Responsibilities: As a Pharmacy Technician – Medicines Management, you will play a crucial role in various teams across the department and the hospital. Your responsibilities include:

  • Initiating the Medicines Reconciliation process.
  • Ensuring patients have an adequate supply of medicines during their hospital stay and beyond.
  • Counselling and educating patients on their medicines.
  • Playing a proactive role in the discharge process to facilitate safe and effective discharge.
  • Extended hours and weekend working to support patient care.
  • Coordinating the dispensary workflow.
  • Dispensing, labelling, and final checking of prescriptions.
  • Providing Controlled Drug service.
  • Managing stock effectively.
  • Training staff.

As part of your development, we will provide training towards the Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT) course, enabling you to undertake the final check of prescriptions.

What We’re Looking For: We are seeking a Registered Pharmacy Technician in the UK, registered with the GPhC, with the following qualifications and attributes:

  • Hospital pharmacy experience is desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize your and others’ workload and prioritize effectively.
  • Experience with JAC or a similar computer labelling/ordering system.
  • Willingness to work weekends, late nights, and bank holidays as per the rota.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Ability to use initiative while understanding your own limitations.
  • Polite, friendly, and punctual.
