Responsibilities:

Develop and provide a clinical pharmacy service for Trauma and Orthopaedics patients.

Attend multidisciplinary team meetings and offer strategic guidance on clinical pharmacy issues.

Influence safe and cost-effective drug therapy, including new drug evaluations and financial reporting.

Identify and encourage improvements in pharmaceutical care and prescribing.

Review and develop policies and procedures for safe medication handling.

Ensure compliance with legal requirements, best practices, and guidelines.

Undertake risk management, develop audits, and lead education and training initiatives.

Contribute to research and audit projects associated with drug use in Trauma and Orthopaedics.

Manage and train junior staff, acting as a team leader for the clinical pharmacy team.

Requirements:

Expertise in Trauma and Orthopaedics with knowledge of general surgery, plastics surgery, and intensive care.

Ability to provide advice and consultancy to patients, healthcare professionals, and other agencies.

Participate in MDT on consultant ward rounds and work toward supporting prescribing as an independent prescriber.
