Job Summary

Accepting applications from trainees scheduled for the GPhC exam in June 2024. UK registered pharmacists without prior hospital experience are welcome to apply.

Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated pharmacists to join our team. We offer tailored training for those transitioning from community pharmacy to hospital pharmacy. This role provides a progression path from Band 6 to Band 7.

Join us at an exciting time as we roll out our dedicated ward pharmacy service to medical wards, offering pharmacists the opportunity to utilize their clinical skills to enhance patient care. Additionally, you’ll have the chance to study for a postgraduate clinical diploma at De Montfort University, Leicester, developed in collaboration with hospital pharmacies in the East Midlands.

Located just an hour from London and within easy reach of Cambridge, Leicester, and Peterborough, Kettering offers a convenient and scenic setting. On-site accommodation may be available if needed.

If you are committed to excellence in patient care and looking to advance your career, we would love to hear from you.

Main Duties of the Job

As a rotational pharmacist, you will rotate through various specialties, including medicine (cardiology, respiratory, care of the elderly, endocrine), urgent care (medical admission wards, ED, and frailty unit), surgery, paediatrics, and acute admissions. Off-site training is also supported at our local Medicines Information Centre. Each rotation includes a ward-based clinical commitment with the support of a dedicated senior pharmacist for development. Additionally, you will participate in our on-call pharmacist team, gaining experience and confidence while providing out-of-hours service to the Trust.

About Us

You will be a key member of a dynamic team, committed to delivering effective and efficient patient care. Strong communication skills, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to high standards of patient care are essential.

We are dedicated to investing in our pharmacists, offering development opportunities through a tailored program.

These positions are also open to trainee pharmacists taking the GPhC exam in July 2024.
