Job Summary:

Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust seeks passionate pharmacists to join their team. Trainees preparing for the GPhC exam in June 2024 and UK registered pharmacists without prior hospital experience are encouraged to apply. This role offers bespoke training for community pharmacists transitioning to hospital pharmacy, with opportunities for progression from Band 6 to Band 7.

Excitingly, the hospital is implementing a dedicated ward pharmacy service to medical wards, enhancing patient care and enabling pharmacists to utilize their clinical skills effectively. Additionally, selected candidates will have the chance to pursue a postgraduate clinical diploma at De Montfort University, Leicester, in collaboration with the hospital pharmacies in the East Midlands.

Situated just an hour from London and conveniently accessible to Cambridge, Leicester, and Peterborough, Kettering boasts picturesque surroundings. Accommodation may be provided if necessary.

Main Duties of the Job:

The role involves rotations through various specialties including medicine, urgent care, surgery, pediatrics, and acute admissions, with support for training provided off-site at the local Medicines Information Centre. Each rotation includes ward-based clinical commitments, supported by dedicated senior pharmacists for developmental guidance. Additionally, on-call opportunities allow pharmacists to gain experience and confidence in providing out-of-hours services to the Trust.
