Job Summary

NHS Jobs is seeking a dedicated and skilled Clinical Pharmacist to join our team in Caterham. This permanent, full-time role offers a competitive salary and the opportunity to work within a supportive and dynamic healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

Support Development of Clinical Pharmacy Services: Collaborate with the Head of Medicines Management (HOMM) to enhance clinical pharmacy services for both wards and community teams, adhering to local and national standards and policies. Ensure the safe, clinical, and cost-effective use of medicines and optimize staff resources.

Provide Specialized Pharmaceutical Advice: Deliver expert pharmaceutical guidance within your clinical specialty to healthcare professionals. Participate actively in multidisciplinary and governance meetings to ensure high standards of patient care.

Risk Management and Clinical Governance: Assist healthcare staff in identifying and managing risks, particularly those related to the use of medicines. Highlight risks to the HOMM and support financial and clinical governance responsibilities.

Supervision and Mentoring: Undertake clinical supervision, mentoring, and ward-based assessments for students, medicines management technicians, and pre-registration pharmacists. Supervise and manage other pharmacy staff to ensure high standards of practice.

Conduct Clinical Audits and Research: Carry out clinical pharmacy audits and practice research in collaboration with the HOMM. Review and update policies and procedures to maintain compliance with best practices.

Leadership and Incident Management: Provide leadership in managing medicine-related tasks and incidents for inpatient wards and community teams, with a particular focus on Controlled Drugs.
